CHESS TOURNAMENT AT ST. AIDAN’S

St. Aidan’s Church (3501 Finch Ave E, Scarborough), will host a Chess Tournament to help raise funds for a pilgrimage to Portugal for the members of the FNE (Federation of North American Explorers), which is a Catholic Scouting Group. This Chess Tournament is open to all ages but there is an entrance fee of $50.00 for those under the age of 16, and $75.00 for those 16 and older.  Parents are welcome to accompany their children. The tournament will be Swiss Style, not elimination format, which means that contestants can continue playing for the duration of the tournament. It will take place at St. Aidan’s Parish on Saturday March 8 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Based on 50 participants, the first-place prize will be $500,00, second place $200.00 and third place $175.00. Please register by March 1, at FNEChess2025@gmail.com. Please bring your chess set and timer, to the tournament, if you have them. Time allotment for games will be 10 minutes for each player. Light refreshments will be available for participants.
