A VIRTUAL EVENT OFFERED BY THE INSTITUTE FOR ISLAMIC, CHRISTIAN, JEWISH STUDIES
Both Muslim and Jewish thinkers have written about Jesus and the role he plays in their respective traditions. Even though the importance of Jesus varies according to each tradition, the variety and depth of views about Jesus among Jews and Muslims provides a fascinating and important way into interreligious dialogue. In this mini-course, we will explore a few Muslim and Jewish interpretations of Jesus over the centuries in order to appreciate: a) how the central figure of Christianity played a role in relations among Christianity, Judaism and Islam; and b) how these discussions can provide useful and interesting ways into interreligious dialogue today.
